In 1903 the young baker, pastry cook and confectioner André Klein set off from Meiringen to emigrate to America and try his luck there. During a stopover in Basel, his attention was drawn by a newspaper advertisement to one Leopold Mosetter who was seeking a keen associate for his confectioner?s shop. André Klein?s decision to join then as a partner, and a year later as sole owner, can be seen today as laying the foundation stone of the Läckerli-Huus.
